Patrick Pretz, Sommelier
Patrick Pretz oversees the wine program at VOX.
Pretz comes with a five-star pedigree, having been a sommelier at Circo and Le Cirque in Bellagio when that property first opened. When Bellagio opened its new Spa Tower in 2004, Pretz moved over to be the wine director of Sensi Restaurant. Then in 2005, when Wynn Las Vegas opened, Pretz was tapped to be the wine director for SW Steakhouse, where he continued to work until he left to form the wine distribution company, Qualité Wine Group, LLC, with Brian Maurer.
Born to a military family in Hawaii, Pretz moved to Las Vegas in 1995
to study Food and Beverage Management at the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas. Before he graduated in 1999, he had already landed work
at one of Las Vegas’ most prestigious resort properties: Bellagio.
At the age of 26, Pretz earned his Advanced Sommelier Certification
from the Court of Master Sommeliers—one of the youngest to achieve
the honor. In the course of his career, he has worked under master
sommeliers such as Jay James, Rob Bigelow and Paolo Barbieri.
